To say that our shop is off-beat would be a dire understatement. Our patrons hail anywhere from a provincially idealistic American lifestyle to the existential socialists. Like any wise barista, we try to cultivate this dichotomy. The university in town grants us a bit of a campus attitude, but we work to maintain the community cafe that Moon Monkey was set out to be. We figure that with choice art, books, performances, and baristas we can create an arena in which to live. Whether it is exploring a choice read, meeting up with fellow soccer moms, or a pseudo-date, what better place for this to take place than the local shop? If someone can leave the Shop feeling a bit more creative, happy, driven, inspired, or challenged then we have done our job. It is all about coffee, but thankfully life falls under that category too.
